About Our Site
Canterbury Hills Camp spans over 70 acres of private forest, nestled within the picturesque Dundas Valley Conservation Area. Our location offers easy access to 40 kilometres of hiking trails, including the iconic Bruce Trail, and a variety of waterfalls, providing our campers with the perfect opportunity to enjoy immersing themselves in nature. Despite our camp’s peaceful, secluded setting, we are conveniently located just 20 minutes from downtown Hamilton and only 5 minutes from Ancaster Town Centre. This proximity strikes a perfect balance between tranquility and easy access for families from Ancaster, Dundas, and Hamilton.
Lion’s Hall, our original dining hall, is the largest indoor gathering space on site. It’s where overnight and bridge campers come together to share hot meals and enjoy our camp’s vibrant community spirit. Lion’s Hall also serves as a hub for indoor activities, including baking sessions, rainy day programs, and more. In addition to Lion’s Hall, we have have nine charming log cabins, each with camper bunk rooms, a common area, and bathroom facilities. Other important facilities include the Creative Arts Centre, Wellness Centre, Resource Centre, Farrell Hall (a classroom-style indoor space), and Artaban Lodge (accommodations for senior staff).
In addition to these indoor spaces, Canterbury Hills boasts a wide range of outdoor amenities. Highlights include an outdoor chapel, campfire hill, outdoor pool, archery range, rock climbing wall, low ropes elements, and a challenging high ropes course—all of which are integral parts of our summer camp programming.
